1. Information we process
- Account information: email address, account identifier, authentication status, and trial or membership status. Supabase handles password authentication; EASY TRIP SPLIT does not receive your plain-text password.
- Trip information: project names, traveler names, expenses, dates, amounts, payer and participant selections, invitation codes, and settlement results.
- Files: receipt or payment images you choose to upload.
- Payment information: Paddle customer, transaction, product, price, subscription, and payment-status identifiers needed to provide paid access. Paddle processes card and payment-method details; EASY TRIP SPLIT does not store full card details.
- Technical information: browser storage, basic request and security logs, device/browser information, and error information necessary to operate and protect the service.
- Support information: messages and contact details you provide when requesting help.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide expense calculations, save and synchronize trips, support collaboration, authenticate accounts, manage trials and paid access, process support requests, prevent abuse, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Browser and cloud storage
Some trip and access information is stored in your browser using local storage. If you sign in and use cloud features, account and trip information may also be stored in Supabase so it can synchronize across authorized devices and collaborators. Removing browser data may remove information that has not been synchronized.
4. Service providers
We use service providers only as needed to operate the service, including Supabase for authentication and cloud data, Paddle for checkout, billing, tax, fraud prevention, and customer payment communications, and Cloudflare for website delivery and security. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.
5. Sharing
Trip information is shared with people you authorize to collaborate on that trip. We may also disclose information to service providers, professional advisers, or authorities when reasonably necessary to operate the service, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or comply with law. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain transaction and legal records, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
7. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are handled using legal safeguards provided by those service providers.
8. Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing, subject to applicable law and necessary transaction-record retention. You may clear locally stored trip data using the service controls or your browser settings. Contact us to make a privacy request.
9. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. Do not create an account if you are below the applicable minimum age.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
